ASTM to release Standard for Low Speed Vehicle Barriers

ASTM sets standards for products around the world to improve product safety and quality.  Recently, they have developed a standard for testing Low Speed Vehicle Barriers, including bollards and a number of other security devices.   Storefront vehicle accidents have become increasingly common and present a serious hazard to pedestrians.   Anti-Ram fixtures such as removable bollards coupled with fixed bollards can provide the protection needed while providing the convenience of vehicle access when required.   Perimeter barriers have often been used in these types of applications, however, this new standard will provide assurance that the products being used have been tested and will perform as expected.  Visit ASTM to read more about the upcoming standard: http://www.astm.org/sn/update/low-speed-pedestrian-barriers-so12.html
